Settlement.org: This is probably the best resource for internationally trained individuals in Ontario. In addition to a wealth of information, there are discussion areas to ask questions and get feedback from other internationally trained individuals. There are highlights not only for finding work but also other issues of immigration and settlement including getting a drivers license, health card and other important subjects. It includes a number of useful sections specifically for internationally trained individuals including:

  • Their section for internationally trained individuals. Features articles on many topics of interest to internationally trained individuals and links to their information about credential assessment, language, sample resumes, and links to related sites on the Internet.
  • Information on Language training. ESL information and links, assessment (for adult learners and children), information about translators and translation as well as other links.
  • Credential evaluation. Many links and resources for assessing experience and education gained overseas. Guides for academic assessment, articles on why it's important, links to various services and other information/links are available.
  • Education: Their section on education has information on schools, a guide for internationally trained, adult education links and other resources.
  • Job Connect -- 211Ontario.ca - This site offers an access to professions and trades 'mini-portal' that include a guide for internationally trained professionals as well as a comprehensive database of organizations in Ontario who work with this issue.
  • A career planning service funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
