President's Message

Hello TESL London Members,

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful, healthy and happy summer holidays. I’ll echo the sentiment about my own that I have heard from most people I have asked about the summer – it was
way too short.

Though the year has just begun we have some inspiring and interesting events and items planned for the coming year. First, as I hope you are aware through the invitations we sent out, we have our 4th Annual Wine and Cheese happening on September 30th. The Highland Golf and Country Club will be our host for a book sale, guest speaker, and some refreshments into the evening. I hope you’re able to join us.

Also, we have ESL week, being celebrated all over Ontario. This year, it occurs during the week of November 9 to 15. We at TESL London will most certainly be holding our essay and poster contest for students, so please get yours involved. Details to follow on this site shortly.

Another interesting item that will soon make its appearance is an ESL ideas exchange forum. We will pose a question to you, and ask for your ideas and solutions. Best answer received (judged by our executive board) will receive a prize. Keep an eye out for this.

We have created a new position on the Board – Jinny Behrens is our PD Chair, and is responsible for much of the planning that goes into these and other events. If you are interested in helping her out, or would like to get involved at any level of the planning or implementing stages, just let her know. Her and other board member’s contact info can be found under the ‘Contact Us’ tab.
